PIP Reality
PIP Reality is a completely new program, not an update of any existing program. It is designed to run on the user’s own computer, either desktop or notebook.
Cost
£2950 (British Pounds)*Minimum System Requirements for PIP Reality
PC with a Pentium Processor, with a speed of
400MHz or higher, running any of the following: Windows XP, XP Pro, XP Media. It
will not run on Windows 95 and shortly will be fully tested for Windows Vista.
Memory: from 384M RAM for Windows XP.
Graphics card: we recommend NVidia GeForce 2 or
later as the software is optimized for this chip, but any recent 24 or 32-bit
graphics card will be adequate. Not motherboard graphics (shared memory).
Printer: inkjet or color laser.
Video camera: The best high-resolution performance
is achieved with a digital video camera and the appropriate video interface.
PIP Reality also works well with analog video
cameras and with web cams (check that the web cam is compatible with your
operating system before buying).
The program is supplied with a hardware key—or dongle. This is a small piece of
hardware that fits at the back of your computer. The PIP program will not load
or run unless the dongle is in place. This can be supplied with USB or Printer
Port connection. Please advise us which you require.
PIP Reality is a very flexible system that allows a
wide choice of video inputs and also multiple simultaneous screen display video
outputs. For example the PIP video can be displayed on one monitor (eg a 20"
high quality Trinitron monitor) while the file access and control window is on
another screen, perhaps a notebook computer LCD display. Only a single computer
is required for this with a separate graphics card for each output display. The
number of monitors is limited only by the number of graphics cards in the
system. With PIP Reality, notebook computers can usually drive two displays: the
LCD screen and an external monitor at the same time. Simply move any of the PIP
windows from one monitor onto the other.
The PIP software is provided on an "as is" basis, no suitability for any particular purpose is claimed. It is a very flexible system that is designed to work with many external devices, but no guarantee is given for reliability or compatibility with any particular computer platform or device. Because of changing technology, Oldfield Systems Ltd reserves the right to update or change programs and hardware interfaces accordingly to meet with changing technology demands.
